Thunder Men’s Volleyball Faces Tough Defeat Against Lethbridge College Kodiaks

(EDMONTON, AB) In a high energy affair coming off the winter break, Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder faced a resilient Lethbridge College Kodiaks team. Despite a spirited effort, the Thunder fell short, losing the match in four sets with scores of 28-26, 16-25, 18-25, and 23-25.

The match started with a closely contested first set, with the Thunder coming out on top. Concordia's setter, Kai Rosnau, distributed the ball effectively all game, contributing 26 assists. Alexi Dufour and Brodie Wight led the attack for the Thunder with eight kills each, supported by Rosnau, Logan Kranrod, and Tyson Assaly, who added a combined 12 kills to the team's effort.

The Kodiaks offensive strength was evident throughout the match, particularly with Nolan Moes delivering a standout performance with 16 kills. Ben St. Pierre orchestrated the team's offense masterfully, finishing the game with 30 assists. Shaye Wall showcased his all-around skills with eight kills and six aces, contributing significantly to Lethbridge's victory. Despite the Thunder's strong effort in the first set, the Kodiaks gained momentum in the subsequent sets, capitalizing on their effective serving, and attacking.

CUE Men's Volleyball will look to bounce back in their next match tomorrow against the Ambrose University Lions at the Ralph King Athletic Centre. The team's current record stands at 1-11 following the match.
