NAIT Ooks Secure Victory in Tight Contest Against Concordia Thunder

(EDMONTON, AB) In an electrifying matchup, the Concordia Thunder hosted the NAIT Ooks in what proved to be a tight contest. The Ooks were able to secure the win in three, but the Thunder fought back every step of the way, pushing each set to the final play.

From the very first serve, it was evident that this match would be a tight one. The former Concordia Thunder Wyatt Turnbull (#5) showcased his versatility with numerous attacks and solid defensive plays. The Thunder, in response, relied heavily on the exceptional skills of Alexi Dufour (#9), who amassed a staggering 15 kills, showcasing his ability to read the play.

The first set was secured by the NAIT Ooks, 25-19. However, the Thunder wasn't ready to surrender. The second set became an epic showdown, that had spectators on the edge of their seats. A high intensity set that almost pushed the game forward but was ultimately won 29-27 by the Ooks.

As the third set unfolded, the game remained close. Every point was critical, and both teams understood the significance of this final set. The Ooks managed to secure the third set with a score of 25-21, sealing their victory in this exhilarating match.

The One Team Sport Players of the game went to #5 Wyatt Turnbull for the NAIT Ooks and #9 Alexi Dufour for the Concordia Thunder. The Thunder will head north next weekend to go up against the Keyano Huskies for a two-game weekend series and return home on November 4th to take on the SAIT Trojans.
