Thunder Come Up Short Against The Ooks

Thunder Come Up Short Against The Ooks

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the NAIT Ooks in Saturday night action to close out the regular season. The Ooks came out strong and withstood the comeback attempt from the Thunder as they took the match 3-1.

The first set was a tightly contested back and forth affair, with both teams exchanging points and leads. But the Ooks managed to eventually take a lead and hold on as they took the set 25-19. The Thunder turned the tides in the second set, however, as they jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they withstood any comeback attempt from NAIT and won the set 25-16. The third set was the same story as the first set as both teams exchanged leads and points throughout. However, the Ooks were once again able to take a lead late and hold on to win the set 25-21. The fourth set was again a hard fought, tightly contested set as both teams exchanged rallies and runs, but again, NAIT took a lead late and never looked back as they took the set 25-19 and the match 3-1.

This concludes the weekend matchup between the Thunder and the Ooks with NAIT taking both games.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #10 Karter Godin for the NAIT Ooks and for the Concordia Thunder: #1 Marc Langevin, #6 Cole Davis, and #14 Christian Legge.
