Thunder Ride Offensive Outburst To Win Over Wolves

Thunder Ride Offensive Outburst To Win Over Wolves

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the Grand Prairie Regional College (GPRC) Wolves in Friday night action as the two teams opened up their weekend series. The Thunder jumped out to an early lead, and even though the Wolves made things interesting in the fourth quarter, CUE never looked back as they took this one 107-87.

The Thunder came firing out of the gate as they jumped out to an early lead and put 31 points in the quarter as they lead the game 31-17 after the first. The second quarter was a similar story as the Thunder offense matched the Wolves and they withstood any attempt by GPRC to close the gap. CUE took a 53-38 lead into the half. The third quarter once again saw an offensive outburst as the Thunder put up 32 points in the quarter to extend their lead, leading 85-60 after three. The Wolves made things interesting in the fourth quarter as they cut into the Thunder lead, and outscored them in the quarter, but CUE withstood the comeback and came away with the 107-87 win.

The Thunder and Wolves will meet again tomorrow afternoon at Concordia to close out their weekend series. The Wolves will no doubt be looking to build off their fourth quarter and come away with a split in the weekend series.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #10 Noe Tchomo for the Wolves and #11 Carsten Ritter for the Thunder.
