Thunder Rally To Win Over Vikings

Thunder Rally To Win Over Vikings

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the Augustana Vikings in Saturday night basketball action to finish their weekend series. Augustana dominated the early part of the game, but the Thunder rallied to take this one 85-79.

Augustana started the game strong and controlled the early part of the game as they took a large lead early, ending the first quarter with a 23-9 lead. The Thunder came to life in the second quarter, however, as they outscored Augustana 30-17 in the period. The Vikings took the lead into the half 40-39. The Thunder carried their momentum into the third quarter as they overtook the Vikings and opened up a lead of their own. They entered the fourth quarter up 63-57. The fourth quarter was a back and forth affair as both teams exchanged baskets, but the Thunder pulled it out to take the game 85-79.

This concludes the weekend home and home for the two teams, with each team winning at home. The Thunder return to action next weekend as they host the GPRC Wolves.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #9 Michael Stasiuk for the Vikings and #2 Nicholas Gibb for the Thunder,
