Thunder Comeback Falls Short In Loss To Ooks

Thunder Comeback Falls Short In Loss To Ooks

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder hosted the NAIT looking for the sweep of their weekend series. The Thunder came out of the game strong, but could not overcome the Ooks lead, as NAIT took the game 106-94.

The first quarter was an even back and forth affair with both teams exchanging leads, and the Thunder coming out of the quarter with a 22-18 lead. The second quarter was a different story as the Ooks took over the game, outscoring the Thunder 29-17 in the period to take a 47-39 lead into the half. NAIT's offensive outburst maintained through the third quarter, as they extended their lead to 82-63 heading into the final quarter. The Thunder pushed back hard in the fourth quarter, rallying late and cutting the Ooks lead to as little as 4 points. However, NAIT withstood the push back and held on to the 104-96 win.

That ends the weekend series between the Thunder and the Ooks with the two teams splitting the series. The Thunder return to action at home next Saturday as they host the Augustana Vikings.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #23 Sean-Michael Clancey for the Ooks and #6 Luka Korosec for the Thunder.
