Thunder Come Out On Top In A Friday Night Battle

Thunder Come Out On Top In A Friday Night Battle

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed The King's University Eagles in Friday night action to open the weekend home and home series between the two teams. The Thunder started out of the gate strong, and withstood the pushbacks from the Eagles as they hung on for the 93-88 win.

The first quarter was a tightly contested affair with both teams exchanging baskets and leads, but the Thunder came out with the lead 20-18. The second quarter started off tight, but the Thunder went on to pull away and extend their lead to 10 as they took a 48-38 lead into the half. The second half was more of the same story, a tightly contested back and forth affair, but the Thunder again managed to come out on top and extended their lead to 71-55. The Eagles pushed back in the fourth quarter and cut into the Thunder lead, making things interesting late, but Concordia managed to pull this one out and take the game 93-88.

The Eagles and Thunder will meet again tomorrow night at King's to close out their weekend home and home series.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #12 Joshua Hamilton for the Eagles and #4 Lucas Turchet for the Thunder.
