Thunder Knock Off the Rustlers in an Offensive Affair

Thunder Knock Off the Rustlers in an Offensive Affair

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the Lakeland Rustlers in Saturday night action to close out their weekend home and home series. The Thunder took momentum early, and never looked back, as they downed the Rustlers 84-73.

The Thunder started well, and maintained control early as they jumped out to a 23-15 lead after the first quarter. Concordia maintained control through the second quarter, extending their lead and taking a 53-32 lead into halftime. The Rustlers pushed back in the third quarter, cutting into the Thunder lead, but unable to get on even terms as the Thunder maintained a 66-51 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The final period saw a lot of offense from both teams, but the Rustlers were unable to cut into the Thunder lead, and Concordia held on for a 84-73 victory.

This game concluded the weekend home and home series between these two teams, with the Thunder sweeping the two games. These two teams will meet again in February with the Rustlers looking to settle the score.

The Kahunaverse players of the game were #7 Rashon Russell for the Rustlers and #2 Nicholas Gibb for the Thunder!
