Thunder Come From Behind To Knock Off Vikings

Thunder Come From Behind To Knock Off Vikings

EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder welcomed the Augustana Vikings in Saturday night action to close out their weekend home and home series. The Vikings came out firing and took an early lead over the Thunder, but Concordia chipped away all game and completed the comeback in the fourth quarter to win 73-68.

The Vikings opened the game on fire, jumping out to an early lead and holding off the Thunder as they took a 29-20 lead at the end of the first. This momentum carried into the second quarter as the Vikings stayed off any comeback from the Thunder as they went into the half up 42-34. The Thunder came out of the half with new offensive energy as they were able to chip away to the Vikings lead in the third quarter, cutting it to five as Augustana led 57-52 at the end of the third. The Thunder road this offensive wave into the fourth quarter as they overtook the Vikings and never looked back, winning the game 73-68.

This finishes the weekend series between the two teams, with both teams winning at home. The Thunder return to action next weekend as they welcome GPRC Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

The Kahunaverse Players of the Game were #12 Tobore Okome for Augustana and #9 Ann Ulmer for the Thunder.
