Women’s Volleyball Continue Win Streak

EDMONTON, AB (January 27^th, 2023) - Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder took on the NAIT Ooks on home court this evening and came out on top with a 3-0 sweep, pushing their win streak to 4. In tonight's game we saw a lot of the Thunder line up contributing to the board and the team played with composure.

The first set was all about digs and kills for the Thunder. CUE showed their strength in kills while the Ooks had some moments of miscommunication. The Thunder took the first set 25-13.The second set started out more even matched. Once it was tied at 4-4, the Thunder find their rhythm again and turn on the intensity. The Thunder hold steady and keep at least a five-point lead throughout and finish the set 25-17. The Thunder lead two sets to none heading into the third set. The Ooks didn't back down to the challenge and continued to push to keep themselves in the game. Near the end of the set the Ooks start to slip a bit and Thunder capitalizes, they finish the game and win 3-0, 25-18.

The One Team Sport players of the game were #2 Kate Dyck from the Ooks, with 20 assists and 10 digs in the game. From the Thunder, #2 Renae Regal with an incredible 23 digs. The next home game for the Concordia Thunder will be against the Lakeland Rustlers on February 4^th at 6PM.
