Rustlers Too Much for Thunder Saturday Night

EDMONTON, AB (February 26, 2022) - The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder closed out their regular season by playing the Lakeland Rustlers Saturday evening. The Rustlers took control early, withstanding numerous rallies from the Thunder, to take the match 3-0. 

The Lakeland Rustlers came out strong in the first set, taking points early. The Thunder worked hard to catch up but ultimately the set went to the Rustlers 25-11. Thunder came out strong in the second set, putting up a strong fight against the Lakeland Rustlers. After close back and forth play, the Rustlers took the second set 25-21. The third set brought another back and forth play of a set between the two. In the end, the Rustlers found their ground and took the set 25-20. 

The One Team Sports players of the game were #4 Jenay Varga for the Lakeland Rustlers and #7 Shae McDonald for Concordia Thunder. 

Concordia University of Edmonton would like to recognize their graduating players #1 Kassidy Kowalski, #6 Avery Plandowski and #7 Shae McDonald and wish them all the very best and success in their future endeavors.
