Larry Petryk Named ACAC 2019-20 Golf Coach of the Year

Camrose, AB (Sept 28, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Larry Petryk of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder has been named the ACAC Golf Coach of the Year.

Larry took the reins of the Concordia golf program this summer after serving as an assistant coach during a very successful 2018-19 season when the Thunder golf team claimed two silver medals and two bronze medals at the ACAC conference championships. The Thunder are back on track with another successful season as the women's team finished in the top two at both regional tournaments and the mixed team finished in 2nd place at the North regional. Larry's experience as a professional golfer and coach has had a positive effect on encouraging student-athletes to strive to the best of their abilities and progressing throughout the season.

Director of Athletics, Joel Mrak, is very appreciative of coach Larry's work ethic, "This is a great achievement for our golf program and very deserving for Larry. He is extremely dedicated to unlocking potential in each of our athletes, and are definitely starting to see this pay off with the results of the team. I can't say enough about the job he has done this season."

Larry Petryk received the award on September 28, 2019, at the ACAC Golf Conference Championship Banquet held in Camrose, AB.
