Kassidy Turcotte Honoured as 2019-20 ACAC Women’s Golf Player of the Year Sponsored by Alberta Golf

EDMONTON, AB (September 30, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Kassidy Turcotte of the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder has been selected as the 2019-20 ACAC Female Golfer of the Year.

Kassidy Turcotte had an outstanding golf season for the Concordia Thunder. She was in the mix at both regional tournaments with her best result being a 3rd place finish at the ACAC North regional. At the ACAC Golf Championships, Kassidy persevered through the wind and the cold to win the women's individual ACAC gold medal shooting an incredible +6 over the three-day tournament. Kassidy's consistent play combined with the success of her sister Kennedy who finished 2nd overall is the reason why the Thunder women's team won the ACAC Women's team gold.

Concordia's Director of Athletics, Joel Mrak, is very proud of what the 5th year athlete has accomplished throughout her career by stating, "It has been a pleasure to watch Kassidy grow as an athlete and as an individual since she joined our program a few years ago. She has been close to winning an ACAC Golf Championship in the past, but seeing her compete now, she has really found her groove and was able to focus through the entire competition. This is an awesome accomplishment for her, and our university is so very proud of her. Congratulations Kassidy!"

The 5th year multisport athlete from Falher, AB is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Education program at Concordia. She will have a chance to represent the ACAC and Concordia University of Edmonton at the CCAA National Golf Championships on October 14th-16th, 2019 hosted by Cegep Andre-Laurendeau in Montreal, QC.

This prestigious award was presented to Kassidy Turcotte at the 2019 ACAC Golf Championship held on September 29th, 2019 at the Coal Creek Golf Resort.
